1. What is the weight?
A: The weight represents the proportion of your node's contribution to the nkn mainnet. It is based on a valid relay signature chain generated by your node.
2. How is the weight calculated?
A: The calculation of the weight is mainly based on whether your node generates a valid signature chain. The smaller its signature hash value, the greater the weight. When your node is in the middle of the signature chain, its weight will be higher than other nodes on the same chain.
3. Why is the weight fairer than the relay?
Answer: Relay is easy to pass through unconventional fraud, the weight cannot be faked, the weight comes from the valid signature chain, and it can reflect the contribution of your node better than relay.
4. Why is the income of some nodes greatly reduced according to the weight calculation method?
A: Maybe your previous node relay is not a valid relay, maybe there are very few valid signature chains or higher weight signature chains generated in the relay.
5. What is the level of weight related to?
A: The affected factors are the performance of the node, the area where the node is located, the quality of the neighbors of the node, and so on.
6. Why does nPool show more nodes in the entire network than the official website?
The number of nodes on the entire network displayed by nPool is obtained once every 20 minutes by using a crawler. This is the real number of nodes. The officially displayed number is much smaller, which may be caused by insufficient number of crawlers or other statistical problems. Recently, some developers have reported this problem to nkn officials.
7. Why is there a big gap between the proportion of nodes and the proportion of explosive blocks?
The main reason is that the number of nodes changes greatly in a short period of time, and the proportion of burst blocks is a slow process of increasing and decreasing.
8. Why does the weight still display 0 after connecting to nPool for a period of time?
First of all, you need to confirm whether your node has completed the synchronization of the block. After synchronizing and entering the mining state, you may need to wait for some high completion before your contribution is calculated.
9. Why is there a wallet still unable to access nPool?
For the ecological security and prosperity of the NKN project, the nPool team decided that the total access nodes of the mining pool should not exceed 50% of the main network nodes. Therefore, when nPool access nodes reach 50%, new nodes will not be accepted. New nodes can only be connected after the old nodes are offline or when the mining pool nodes are lower than 50% of the main network nodes.
10. Why does the number of nodes in the nPool pool exceed 50%?
After the decline of the entire network nodes, the nodes in the pool will decline in a smaller proportion or not, and the proportion of nodes in the pool will increase.
11. Why is NPool free?
NPool is independently developed by NKN ecological enthusiasts, aiming to serve NKN miners, and has been recognized and rewarded by the NKN Foundation. At present, nPool has entered a relatively stable operation state, and the maintenance cost is relatively low. In the future, when the spring of WEB3 comes, we believe that NKN will have a bright future, let us work together to build it.
